How astrology ‘seed moments’ reshape us
The most powerful aspect between planets is the CONJUNCTION which takes place when planets are sitting at the same zodiacal degree.
Because the ‘inner planets’ (Sun-Mars) scoot around the zodiac every year or two, they form conjunctions with other planets regularly. These conjunctions shift the energetic tone in the short term via triggering events and conversations and news stories that highlight the themes of the planets involved.
For longer term influences that bring more momentous changes to society generally, we look to the movement of the ‘outer planets’ - from Jupiter outwards. These slow moving beasts can take many years to form a conjunction with each other and when they do, we experience invisible gateways that shift us from one epoch to another.
By the time we get to the slowest planets, we can see their conjunctions creating distinct breaks in history with innovations planting ‘seeds’ from which the following epoch will grow.
Here’s an example
Let’s look at the two most recent conjunctions of Neptune and Uranus which occurred in 1993 and 1821.
Neptune symbolises spirit, dreams, idealisation, glamour, creativity, nebulousness, water and deception. Uranus symbolises rebellion, awakenings, sudden events, radicalisation, technology, disruption, electricity and innovation.
Around 1821 the electric motor was invented. The first concept for a ‘computer’ emerged. Semiconductors, electromagnetism, concrete and photography all originate from around this time. These inventions ushered in the age of electric light, skyscrapers, photo imagery, cinema and computing.
The next conjunction in 1993 brought us the birth of the World Wide Web. Pentium chips, spam messages and the PDF format birthed an entirely new way of living digitally. Life has never been the same since.
With the benefit of hindsight we can look back and see just how incredibly important these discoveries were. But at the time, news of these newfangled breakthroughs just weren’t that important. And this is what I mean by ‘seed’ moments. Seeds are small, easy to miss, but hold the DNA that can create a life.
A seed moment can also manifest in a person’s birth chart and they might go on to be culturally important. Our 1993 cohort is only 32, so we’re still waiting for leaders to emerge who will shape the future. But already we have the example of Charlie Kirk who was born just a week before the exact conjunction. Zohran Mamdani has these two planets just 4° apart.
Our current seed moment
The reason for diving into this explanation, is to illustrate why I’m currently obsessed with ‘seed moments’. Because in 2025/2026/2027 we have outer planets – Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter all forming aspects. They are sextiling each other (60° apart). While a sextile isn’t as strong as a conjunction, the fact that they’re all connected is extraordinarily rare and indicates that we’re currently sitting on the cusp of a new era of human history. The number of planets involved indicates how broad the influence is going to be.
So what’s happening around us right now? AI has to be the biggest story. It is changing EVERYTHING. Education, jobs, human usefulness. What does it even mean to be human right now and in the years ahead?
So that’s the major seed, but elsewhere, pay attention to everything for clues. Because just as the first mentions of ‘electricity’ or ‘the internet’ didn’t register much importance, we’re currently surrounded by innovations that are going to completely reshape us and the world in the years ahead.
