An eclipse example

Our last solar eclipse on Feb 17, 2026 fell at 28° AQUARIUS. Since the zodiac is a circle, we can note that the most impacted degrees will be 28° AQUARIUS, and its opposite degree - 28° LEO. This is the AXIS of the eclipse. Here’s the chart…

The Sun and Moon both sit at 28° Aquarius (the squiggly symbol). I’m also highlighting Uranus, over at 27° of Taurus (the Taurus symbol is the circle with ears). This brought ‘Uranian’ type energy to the eclipse - sudden events, drama, impulsive moments.

Eclipses themselves can also be ‘high drama’ events - they have a wildcard tone, with sudden shifts and happenings possible.

To know if an eclipse will be bringing its energy into your life, you can look to your chart to see if any planets or important points sit across the eclipse axis. If they do, then YES, you’re likely to be in for an eventful time. Sometimes things will happen right around the eclipse, but often it’s a resonance type energy for several months. The eclipse activates a degree axis, then ongoing transits (usually by the fast-moving inner planets) will ‘set off’ the eclipse energy.

So who was activated by this solar eclipse?

Donald Trump has his Descendant at 28° of Aquarius. Which means that his Ascendant is 28° of Leo. This is a fundamental, extremely important axis in the chart. His Mars (the planet of war, aggression, combat) also sits at 26° LEO. This is a close eclipse hit for him, on two counts.

And wouldn’t you know it, Benjamin Netanyahu also has his Mars at 26° LEO, the exact same point where Trump has his. They are Mars-aligned and assert themselves in similar ways.

You can also do ‘birth’ charts for countries, particularly modern ones that have accurate birth times. Such as Israel. And it turns out that Israel has its national Mars at 28° LEO.

Astrologers have been waiting and watching, because we all knew that the transiting Mars was going to activate the eclipse degree AND square Uranus around late Feb-early March. And this is ACTION, with Mars making eclipse potential manifest. Mars can bring action and motivation, but it can also bring anger, fight and destruction. And yes, suddenly Trump, Netanyahu and Israel were joined together, in war.

For the astro nerds: The centre chart is the solar eclipse set for TEHRAN. They had the solar eclipse in the 8th house, with Pluto conjunct the Descendant. This promises violence, death, oppression from others. The stage was set.

This event clearly shows how eclipses ‘play out’ in a real-world way. It also shows that this initial violence should ease after a few days, particularly once Mars moves away into Pisces (a much more passive sign) on March 3.

March 3 just happens to be our next eclipse - which is a lunar eclipse at 12° Pisces/Virgo. Transiting Mars will also pass over this next eclipse point around March 20. So while the initial force may ease, we can expect this complicated situation to continue at least until then.
