July-Oct 2025 has crazy astrology

Welcome to the 2nd half of 2025! The first half was a crazy rollercoaster and while June was a lovely respite, we’re now about to dive in to some pretty fascinating astrology.

It starts on July 11 with Uranus’s shift into Gemini. This also coincides with retrogrades of both Neptune (July 5) and Saturn (July 13).

The Uranus shift is our next important ingress of the year. Uranus rules disruption, rebellion and unexpected, sudden moments. It moves signs every 7 years, getting around the entire Zodiac in 84 years. This shift is into Gemini - its last visit here was from 1941 until 1949, coinciding pretty neatly with the US entry into World War II. Trump might be saying he has peace deals happening worldwide, but astrologers are less convinced that we’re in for a calm future. Both Uranus and Gemini are agitating energies. We can expect technological leaps, changes in communication, personal transport, ideas about how we live as a collective, and quite a bit of personal disruption, particularly if you have a Gemini-heavy chart. Many ideas will leap about, some may stick but many may not - this is jittery, jumpy energy with false starts, genius breakthrough and exciting moments.

The takeaway: Expect shifts in attitudes and advances in technology, communications, personal transport, unionism, cultural ‘norms’. If you think ADHD is a problem now, just wait for coming years - the entire energy is fractured and distracted.

Uranus shifting now sets the stage for the year’s major outer planet alignment. All three outer planets are now in the early degrees of new signs. This very much feels like we’re dipping our toes into ‘the future’. The last time all three changed sign (that I can find) within a year was 1736/37. I’ve tracked back through the history of this time and it’s not particularly momentous. There are interesting beginnings and endings that perhaps speak to it being a demarcation point between eras - for instance it became illegal to conduct witch trials and it was the end of the Medici family line. Those influences were left in the past, and in that year the first paid police force was established, along with the methodist church and the first printing of an Irish newspaper that is still in print today. So there is a sense of modern life starting to be distinguishable. But perhaps I’m cherry picking from history somewhat.

Most interestingly, we do have records of a earthquake and tsunami happening on 16/10/1737 in Russia. Chile also experienced an earthquake and tsunami in the same year (date unknown). This made me pay attention as it corresponded with a trine (easy flow) of energy between Pluto (destruction, regeneration) and Neptune (water). ‘Easy’ aspects are not always good news. Which is worth considering this year, with all of our outer planets aligned in similarly ‘easy’ aspects. Out of interest, for astro nerds, here’s a chart for that fateful tsunami day…

In 2025/2026 we have Pluto trining Uranus and sextiling Neptune. Perhaps we’re going to see another spate of natural disasters. It’s just so EASY for momentous energy to shift around us with these skies.

This image illustrates the skies in early August. Quick moving Mars and Mercury link up with the outer planet aspects to form 5 points on a hexagram. Just early Sagittarius is empty, and it will be filled briefly four times daily as the angles pass by. These are dynamic skies that I frankly don’t quite understand. The Hexagram shows up across cultures - it’s a spiritual closed system, usually portrayed as two opposing equilateral triangles - best known in the Jewish star of David. It holds magic and equality, practicality and magic. Potential abounds - in astrology texts they’ll tell you that all this flowing energy is opportunity but in reality smooth aspects can often manifest more like our tsunami example. Vast amounts of uncontrolled energy swamping us. This is an extremely interesting period of time to watch.

I could crap on forever speculating about what this will mean, but I’ll be wrong. So we should all just sit and watch with wonder to see what happens over this period.

The takeaway: We’re on the cusp of something big and new. Watch. Respond to yourself. Tap in. Anyone with planets/points in early degrees of nearly any sign will be feeling this. Be kind to yourself and to those around you. Strive for personal insights and growth. But also just hang on for the ride - I’ve not seen a configuration like this before, so it’s totally cool if you’re feeling a bit out of sorts.

We roll out of August straight into Eclipse season. September 8 is a Lunar eclipse. This is the easier of the two. People born around this date or around March 3-11 are getting a hit. The rest of us can look to our Pisces and Virgo houses to anticipate the life topics that may experience the eclipse keywords of ‘endings/beginnings’ and ‘wildcards’. This can be helpful prods from the universe, especially if we’ve been stalling around something that we know deep down needs attention. Need help finding your impacted houses? This blog post should help you.

Now THIS solar eclipse on September 22 is where life gets interesting. Eclipses can be pretty crazy all by themselves, yet alone when they’re triggering off the century’s most curious outer planet configuration. But here above you can see the pretty kite pattern being created by the geometry at hand. This feels important and momentous, but again, I’m a little lost on the specifics. I think we’ll see some major world events, but perhaps we’ll all feel it in a million different ways as we tap into our own personal experience. And perhaps that’s the lesson. Here we all are in our individual lives, but sharing a collective life. It’d be nice if the war mongering powers that be could tap into our connectedness, to gain fresh perspective on what humanity needs.

There is a sense with this configuration that we’re being tested. There’s a touch of ‘good’ versus ‘evil’ that I can’t quite shake. So much of this energy could be entered consciously and blissfully, if only we had the wisdom to welcome it. But I’m a cynic about humans. They’re kind of shit. So despite this configuration auguring heavenly change and spiritual progress, I suspect that only negative events tend to trigger mass change in people. If change happens broadly from events around now, it’s probably because something stinky is happening.

The takeaway: This is a whopper of an eclipse, majorly triggering many of us. Stay calm and carry on if you’re born between Jan 19-24, March 16-24, May 19-24, June 20-24, Sept 19-25, Dec 20-23. Basically all of us will have something in this range.

The kite formation/geometry is repeated on and off throughout September and into October. Here we have Venus bringing a sweeter, kinder energy in. This is a beautiful little period of harmony and joy. I mean, there is potential for the world to just be feeling KINDER around this time. Fingers crossed!

The takeaway: This entire August - October period is special. PLEASE pay attention. It may be big world stuff, or small personal moments, but there’s the strong sense that we’re all meant to be learning something.

By the end of October, retrograde Neptune and Saturn have moved back into Pisces and by the New Moon in November (above) Uranus is also back in Taurus. The foray into the future is over. For now. We get a couple of months to chill and review. Perhaps the energy will feel more ‘normal’. The only caveat is a nasty little Mars opposite Uranus aspect which was exact around November 4. That could be a testy few days.

The image above is the Scorpio New Moon. See all the little ‘r’ symbols with crosses? They are retrograde planets, and there’s a bunch of them. This is ‘exhale’ energy. We’re integrating, absorbing, filtering through events of the past months. Retrograding Mercury configures tightly to this lunation, so we’ve got intense conversation, thinking and ideas. Strategic planning would be brilliant around now. It trines into Saturn and Jupiter, who dance together in a helpful aspect from mid October until early December. This bring a helpful combination between big picture ideals and practical details. It’s all emotionally led, but pragmatic. I like this energy a lot.

From there we drift into a benign Christmas and New Year. This summer is much cruisier than the 2024/25 summer. Enjoy. Because then from February we get stuck back into round 2 of ‘the future’.

The takeaway: The rest of this year is going to be a wild ride. Hopefully in a good way. But I can’t be sure. What I do know is that life goes on in meaningful ways, for all of us, everyday. Big stuff can happen, but there’s still nothing better than a beautiful smile from a new love, collecting the keys to your new home, or crying bittersweet tears over the loss of a loved one. Life continues, throughout any chaos. Remember that. And book a session if your’e feeling overwhelmed at any stage.
