The impact of Neptune in Aries (so far)

One of 2025’s major energetic shifts was Neptune’s move into Aries on March 31. Now, after 8 months of dipping her toe in, she’s about to shift back into Pisces (Oct 22) for a few months, before returning to Aries on Jan 28, where she’ll stay for the next 13 years.

Back in March I posted a few predictions about how the energy might manifest, and I’m pleased to say that I was quite on track. However it’s perfect timing now to consider exactly how we’ve been impacted, since this is the prologue to a major story shift that will unfold more in coming years.

Here’s what I’ve noticed so far, keeping in mind that Neptune is the planet that symbolises dreams, hopes, idealism, spirituality and escape and Aries is the sign that symbolises initiative, the individual, aggression, courage and pure fire spirit.

  1. Environmental impacts. Water (Neptune) has had a distinctly Aries flavour this year. The water has been angry (Aries), with massive seas destroying parts of the coast on April 2nd, just three days after the planetary ingress. There’s been increased impact from increasing water temperatures (Aries = heat) that we can expect to remain a problem for the 15 years ahead. And the ocean took a violent turn with Sydney’s first fatal shark attack on the Northern Beaches since 1935 (predators = Aries).

  2. Face cloaking. Linked in with the impact of AI (which is being driven by Pluto’s shift into Aquarius), we’ve seen a new trend of makeup and masks (Neptune) that confuse (Neptune) facial (Aries) recognition software. Aries rules the individual, and Neptune confuses and distorts. I’m watching this one with interest. Neptune is a trend setting planet, and who knows what crazy make up trends could take hold over in coming years as we stand as individuals to counter technological ‘advances’.

  3. Shifts in social media & phone use. Thankfully Pluto’s shift into Aquarius saw the beginning-of-the-end of power consumerism, as symbolised by the Kardashians. Neptune’s move into Aries expands the story, with a shift away from the popularity of existing social media. Originally intended for individuals (Aries) to post about themselves and connect with other individuals, they’re now flooded with corporate advertising and AI slop (Neptune), making them increasingly unappealing. Add to this the clear evidence about the harm of phone use (these stats are jaw dropping), and I think we’re at a pivot point with our smart phone addiction. With the first taste of this energy, we’re seeing increased awareness of the problem, but it will take more time to eventuate into a solution. The tone has definitely shifted though, from the Neptune in Pisces era (2011-2025) when we all knew we were hopelessly addicted, but felt quite helpless about it.

  4. Gurus and active spirituality. I was just listening to Mamamia Out Loud, noting the rise of celebrity gurus and their appeal for modern women. Back in March I did predict that we’d see a rise in ‘saviour’ type people – strong, charismatic individuals who capture our attention (Neptune) with their cult of personality (Aries). We can expect this to increase as individuals all feel qualified to lead us (Aries) in our spiritual pursuits (Neptune). We’ve also seen a rise in more active (Aries) spirituality (Neptune), eg breathwork, which I think of as being the F45 of meditation. Similarly, an exercise (Aries) trend is the the rise of Bathhouses (Neptune). This is a trend that I’m 100% on board with (let me dig out my cozzie and I’ll see you there!). There’s nothing like a soaking my body (Aries) for a moment of bliss (Neptune).

  5. The return of colour. As predicted, we’re done with the grey tones and tasteful silver metallics that smothered our houses and clothes over the past 15 years. While 2025’s colour of the year was Mocha Mousse, we’ve also seen strong reds and cleaner pastels. I’m keen to see 2026’s colour trends - expect something punchier and vibrant.

Generally Neptune in Aries influences are tracking as I would have expected. The Bathhouse thing is an added bonus while the aggressive water is a more worrying problem, particularly for us beach-loving, coast-huggers.

We now get a few months to digest these early influences as Neptune takes a final twirl in Pisces. We return now to finish off the storylines that have been playing out in the Pisces house of our charts since 2011.

Then from late January 2026, Neptune settles back into Aries for a long haul (until 2038), and we can all keep an interested eye out for the next instalment of this new cultural era.
